Sudoku Online aims to make Sudoku gameplay and supporting content usable across keyboard, touch, and common assistive-technology workflows. Accessibility is treated as an ongoing product requirement rather than a one-time certification.
1. Our accessibility goals
We work toward clear focus states, predictable keyboard order, readable text and controls, sufficient contrast, responsive layouts, understandable labels, and recovery from errors without requiring a mouse. Game controls, dialogs, preferences, account forms, and content pages are reviewed as part of the same interface system.
2. Keyboard use
Interactive controls should be reachable with standard keyboard navigation. Focus should remain visible, modal dialogs should manage focus when opened and closed, and disabled controls should not behave like active actions. The Sudoku board and surrounding controls are designed so keyboard users can operate the game without relying only on pointer input.
3. Screen readers and status information
Where practical, controls use meaningful names and states, and important dynamic changes use accessible announcements rather than visual-only cues. Because Sudoku is a dense grid-based game, some board interactions can still be more demanding with a screen reader than ordinary document navigation; we continue to treat these flows as areas for improvement.
4. Visual readability and responsive layouts
The interface uses a consistent type system, visible focus outlines, bounded content widths, and layouts that adapt from desktop to small mobile screens. We avoid relying on color alone for critical meaning where another label/state can be provided. User zoom and browser text scaling should remain usable without intentionally blocking those controls.
5. Known limitations
We do not claim formal certification against every accessibility standard or assistive-technology combination. Browser, operating-system, extension, translation, and device differences can affect behavior. A feature may also regress after a software update even when it previously passed internal checks.
6. Report an accessibility problem
